Ulta Beauty Haul + First Impressions

Today I wanted to share all the products I ordered in my most recent Ulta haul and share some first impression thoughts. I actually I chose everything I ordered based off of reviews and ratings. Basically all these products had good reviews, so I wanted to see if I found them worth the rating.

The ratings are off the website they aren’t my ratings.

J. Cat H20 Fresh Dewy Primer Rating 5/5 stars
What others say: hydrating, easy to apply, lightweight, last long

What I think: I agree with all what everyone else says about this product.  I was a bit apprehensive at first because it almost has a quite water-y consistency, but it absorbs into the skin very nicely.

ELF Blemish Control Face Primer Rating 5/5
What others say: blends well, easy to apply, doesn’t cause breakouts, smooth, hydrating

What I say: Once again I agree with all the reviews. Compared to the J. Cat primer this primer is more thick, but it’s still not heavy. What I like most about this product is that it does a nice job as covering up my redness especially on my cheeks which is something I definitely want to conceal when wearing makeup.

Tartelette Tease Clay Eye shadow Palette Rating 4 1/2 out of 5
What others say: long last, applies easily, blends easily, cheap compact, flakes off, messy, difficult to apply

What I say: Just like the reviews, I to have mixed feelings about this palette. When it comes to the colors of the shades I do really like them, and I use all of them. I do use the two middle shades the most though just because they are what I am drawn to. In regards to application, there is some fall out with these shadows and it can get a bit messy, but I am not overly bothered with stuff like that. I find the shadows easy to blend and they do last a good bit of the day.

Contouring Blush and Bronzer Powder Rating 4 1/2 out of 5
What others say: easy to apply, good pigmentation, lightweight, blends well, natural looking

What I say: I must say I was pleasantly surprised with this product. I typically am with Elf products. I just think it’s very impressive how well their products work with how affordable the pricing is. You wouldn’t think with how nice their packaging is and how well their products usually work (at least in my opinion) that their pricing is affordable. okay, anyways, in regards to this product I really like it. It is natural looking, it blends well, easy to apply, a little fall out but nothing major. I think this is a great product!
It Cosmetics CC Cream: This was my only item in this haul that was a repurchase. This is my 2nd time buying this item again. I have nothing negative to say about this foundation. It conceals my spots well, evens out my skin tone, applies easily, last long. I agree with the reviews that it isn’t necessarily good if you are looking for fuller coverage, but for everyday use I don’t want completely fully coverage, but something that is more natural looking and I can easily achieve that with this foundation.

Conceal and Confine Full Coverage Concealer and Contour Rating 4/5

What others say: blends well, easy to apply, smooth, long lasting, poor coverage, doesn’t work.

What I say: Firstly I will say that I don’t use this for contouring but only for concealing blemishes, so I can’t say how it works in that regard. When it comes to the reviews I agree with the positives 100% more than the negatives. I don’t find the coverage poor or that the product doesn’t work. I think the coverage is great, it applies easily, blends well, and is long lasting.

Pro Contour Cream Rating 5/5
What others say: blends well, easy to apply, easy to take off, smooth, long lasting, natural looking

What I say: ok ok I must make a confession, I haven’t actually tried this product, but I still wanted to include it because it was still a part of the haul. I will try it out and share my review of it.

Clear Days Ahead Acne Treatment and Moisturizer Rating: 4 1/2 out 5
What others say: effective, easy to use, hydrates skin, minimizes pores, irritates skin, doesn’t work, dries out skin.

What I say: Luckily I do find that this product works. Has it cleared up my skin no but I also wasn’t expecting this to be a quick fix or my #1 solution to clearing up my skin and preventing blemishes. I agree that it is hydrating I don’t find it drying at all and it does help to hydrate the skin.

Tea Tree Oil Blemish Fade Night Lotion Rating: 4 1/2 out of 5
What others say: absorbs quickly, smooth, long lasting, not greasy, moisturizes, not long lasting, drying.

What I say: I did feature this product in my last post which was my nightly skin care routine so go check that out 🙂 anyways, I also find this product to work pretty well. It quickly absorbs into the skin, isn’t greasy, I personally am not bothered by the smell.

And that is everything I purchased in my  latest Ulta Haul. I hope you enjoyed! Let me know what your latest makeup purchases have been and what your thoughts are on the products.
