I wanted to start a new series I guess you could call it that I will be titling Sunday Spill. Basically I will be talking about things I have had on my mind and sharing my thoughts and opinions about things. Today I wanted to kick this idea off by talking about pressures I have placed on myself when it comes to blogging and creating content. If there are other subjects you’d like me to cover let me know. Also, these are going to be very rambly and probably not very organized, so there’s your warning!
Alright, I feel like I say this a lot, but once again it has been a minute since I have posted something and firstly I wanna address how guilty that makes me feel because a large part of me feels this pressure to consistently put up content. However, I am also realistic in the fact that I can’t continuously put out well constructed content week after week. Can other people do that yes absolutely, but me personally I can’t. I am trying to get to a place where I don’t put pressure on myself when it comes to this blog. I created this platform to share things and create post I am happy with and maybe I will put together multiple blog post I am happy with 4 times in one week and maybe I won’t post any blog posts the next week. I know one of the biggest answers to the question “how do I become a successful blogger?” is “be consistent and scheduled” I get why it’s important, but at the same time I personally just can’t follow it and at the moment I am viewing this as quality over quantity. I would rather have 3-4 great post put out in the span of a month then 10+ okayish ones I put out because I felt like I had to. This pressure thing is something I have struggled with a lot a very recently it has been really effecting me, so I am trying to rewire my thoughts if that is the right way to put it, and remember that I am the creator of this blog and I post and share what I chose to. I feel like I just majorly rambled that whole thing, so hopefully it makes sense what I am trying to say. Does anybody else feel this way?
Another thing that has been on my mind A LOT, and something I am working on yet struggling with is jealousy and envy of other bloggers and influencers. I don’t like to use those words, but 100% truth it is exactly how I feel, and I did speak about this in a few post back about self confidence and social media, but I am still going to talk about it here because 1) it is something I am still struggling with and trying to manage and 2) whether anybody will admit it or not I know I am not the only one who feels this way. I know I stated in previously in this post that I created this blog to share things that I loved and create content that I am happy with, and yes that is true, but I would be lying if I said I never had those moments where I think “imagine if this was my job! what a dream that would be” (yes I do realize a lot of work goes into a career like this and that it’s not just cool instagram photos and free things) I am just being real and saying I have had thoughts like that and I still do. I see all these influencers and bloggers mainly on Instagram getting all these amazing products sent to them, wearing these hella cute clothes and I want that. I would love to have a blog that thousands heck I would be happy with hundreds of people came to visit for recommendations, and simply because they love it. Yet I need to be realistic in the fact that that may never happen, but that doesn’t mean I can’t create great content that I am happy with. I shouldn’t slack on my work just because it reaches a small audience. I don’t think it is wrong to have the goal of wanting to be a big time blogger, but at the same time I need to be realistic and focus on what I have right now, and not let other peoples stats effect me. Once again asking basically the same question I did previously: is this something you can relate to?
I am not entirely sure how to close this, and there are other things I want to talk about, but I don’t wanna make this a super long post, but it probably already is. Anyways I just wanna share that I want to start becoming more open on here and sharing things other then just makeup I am loving or clothes I bought. I want to also use this space to talk about things that are on my mind, and I hope it connect well with you guys. As I have mentioned if there is something you’d like me to talk about let me know or if you wanna have a conversation with me leave a comment. If you read this far you are wonderful that thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this
Hope you enjoyed!
I recently got my July Yas Oh Yas box and I wanted to share what came in it. If you are unfamiliar with Yas Oh Yas it is a monthly subscription that sends you 5 products for $14.99.
I do have a promo code to receive 10% off your first box! Click the link here and use code YOY
Alrighty here is what I received in this months YOY package
Please excuse the lighting. We don’t have blinds in our living room yet and the sun was out shining in all its glory (not that I am complaining)
This beautiful eye palette from IBY Beauty is without a doubt the product I’m most excited to try. I think all the shades are so pretty.
I am always looking to try new face products to help my skin, so I’m looking forward to trying this stuff.
The other products I received were a eyeliner, lip pencil, and lipstick. I am not sure how much I will use the lip liner or eyeliner seeing as I don’t use those items in my routine, but I will at least try them once.
And that is everything I got. Let me know if you decide to try this subscription and if you do, don’t forget to use my code I shared above.

I recently popped into Walmart with the intention of getting some paint supplies for our house, but of course I am incapable of going in somewhere and just getting what I need, so I walk out with some more things that necessary including makeup (shocker). To be honest though I haven’t been very happy with my makeup lately. It might be the fact that it is so hot here in Oklahoma, but lately my makeup has looked so patchy even when I wear my favorite foundations that used to stay on all day long. I intended on just getting a couple foundations, but of course that didn’t happen… Anyways, I am going to give all these products a try and decide what I think is worth keeping.
On a somewhat different note, but still relatable I just wanted to share a tip if you’d call it that with you guys. On the back of all makeup items there is a small jar with a number in it for example 18m, That means an item is good for 18 months after opening. I’m sure some of you already knew that, but I didn’t till recently, so I wanted to share!
Here is what I got!
- Maybelline Master Prime Blur + Redness. The primer I got isn’t available online for some reason, so the link is for another master primer, but the one I got is available in stores.
- Rimmel Stay Matte Primer
- NYX Shine Killer Primer
- NYX Eyeshadow Base
Foundation, Concealer, and Contour
Finishing Powder and Spray
And that is everything I got. If you tried any of these products let me know your thoughts on them! I’m looking forward to trying these products out (minus a couple I’ve already tried like the age rewind concealer).

It’s something all makeup wearers have struggled with at some point, the dreaded challenge of getting your makeup to last all day. This can be especially daunting in the hot summer days or when your day is more active and you find yourself working up a sweat. For the longest time I couldn’t figure out how to make my makeup stay all day. My mascara would flake off, my eyeshadow would just disappear and my foundation don’t even get me started on how patchy it would look… I have tried a multitude of finishing powders, primers, and facial sprays to help, and while I tried some definite misses some of them were major hits in my book, and those are the products I’ll be talking about today. This is of course based off personal preference what works for me may not necessarily work for someone else, but I still wanted to share in case you are inspired to try any of these products
The first thing I do to get my makeup to last longer is apply a primer. We all have our favorites but this Angel Veil primer by NYX and this Blemish Control Face Primer by ELF Cosmetics (which I need to reorder) are two of my favorites. Both apply well to the skin, absorb quickly and make for a great base before applying foundation.
Something that has been a major game changer for me in getting my foundation to last longer throughout the day and also apply finishing powder before foundation. My two favorite ones to use are the Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder and the Coty Airspun Translucent Loose Powder both are insanely affordable (under $6) and feel so nice on the skin. I love both of them but if I had to be honest the Coty one is my favorite and my all time favorite face powder ever. I will repurchase it again and again. I do still set my foundation after concealer and bronzer, but adding powder before foundation has been such a game changer to how long my makeup last. I have really noticed a difference with not only how well it last and looks throughout the day but also how nicely my foundation applied every since I started using this trick.
I have used eyeshadow primer since I first started using makeup I am a firm believer that it makes a huge difference in wear time and application. Just like many I love the Urban Decay primer potion and a few others ranging from high end to low end, but this
Lid Lock Up Eyeshadow Primer by Covergirl is so good ya’ll! And it under $10. There is a reason this product has 4 star rating on the Ulta website. If you are looking for dupe to the Urban Decay primer potion try this. I mean $10 compared to $22 that’s 1/2 the price.
In regards to helping my mascara apply better and last longer I have been loving the Estee Lauder Little Black Primer Tint. I received a mini size of this in a value pack with the matching mascara and an eyeliner, but I am planning on getting a full size of this because I love it so much. I haven’t always been one to use lash primer and honestly used to think it wasn’t all that necessary, but this makes such a difference in how long and volumized my lashes look. Also this helps my mascara last longer throughout the day and not clump of flake off.
And finally the last product I use to help my makeup last all day is the Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rosewater. I know the Urban Decay makeup setting spray is so hyped up and so many people say that it’s the best spray, and I do think it’s good, but ya’ll just save your money and buy this one (It’s under $15). This spray is so refreshing I use it even when I am not wearing makeup to freshen up my skin. It dries quickly, absorbs well into the skin, and helps makeup last all day.
And there you have it all the products I use to help my makeup stay all day and look just as good at the end of the day as it did when I first applied it.
